Tour schedules change and some events require registration. The dates below distinguish confirmed 2027–28 events from prior-year patterns. Do not treat a prior-year example as a reservation.

Cedar Trails Elementary

2027–28 school tour/information-night date: not yet announced.

The school normally meets incoming kindergarten families in January before registration. Its page confirms that a 2026 information night was held but no longer shows its date or time. Watch the Cedar Trails kindergarten-registration page and weekly bulletin beginning in December 2026.

The district-wide Zoom session for incoming kindergarten families is already scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2027, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Grand Ridge Elementary

2027–28 school tour/information-night date: not yet announced.

For planning only, the prior cycle's adult-only Kindergarten Registration Information Night was Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 5:30–6:30 p.m. Expect the new event around January 2027, but wait for confirmation on the Grand Ridge announcements page.

The district-wide Zoom session is Tuesday, April 20, 2027, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Cascade Ridge Elementary

2027–28 kindergarten orientation and playground-playdate dates: not yet announced.

For planning only, Cascade Ridge's prior-cycle kindergarten orientation was Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The school then offered incoming-kindergarten playground playdates on June 13, July 23 and August 22, 2026, plus individual caregiver/student meetings immediately before kindergarten began. The district-wide Zoom session is Tuesday, April 20, 2027, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Endeavour Elementary

2027–28 kindergarten information-night date: not yet announced.

For planning only, Endeavour held its prior-cycle incoming-kindergarten information night on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., before registration opened in February. Watch the Endeavour kindergarten-registration page and school bulletin beginning in December 2026.

The district-wide Zoom session is Tuesday, April 20, 2027, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Open Window School

Required parent/guardian tour; exact dates and times appear in Aryval.

• Tours are held in person from September through January.
• Registration opens in September 2026, with the 2027–28 application; the exact opening date is not yet published.
• Create an Aryval account and select Open Window to see and reserve available tours.
• If no date works, keep checking because the school adds tours during fall and winter, or email admissions@ows.org.

Seattle Country Day School

A parent visit is required. Registration opens in Ravenna in early September 2026.

Lower-school in-person tours for grades K–3 run 8:50 a.m.–11:30 a.m. on:

• October 13 and 27, 2026
• November 3, 5 and 19, 2026
• December 1, 10 and 15, 2026
• January 7 and 19, 2027

Virtual K–8 tours run 7:00–8:15 p.m. on December 16, 2026 and January 13, 2027. A fall 2026 Open House can also satisfy the required parent visit, but its date has not yet been posted.

University Child Development School (UCDS)

Required small-group adult tour; individual dates appear in Ravenna.

• Tours run on school days from 9:00–11:00 a.m., October 2026 through January 2027.
• Tour registration is reserved for families applying for 2027–28.
• UCDS plans to notify Ravenna families in early September when the application and scheduling open.
• If no scheduled date works, email admission@ucds.org for its virtual-tour link.

View Ridge Elementary

2027–28 tour dates and times: not yet announced.

View Ridge says prospective-family tours usually occur in January and February. In the prior cycle it announced after-school tours on January 8 and 12, 2026, meeting in the library and proceeding to kindergarten classrooms for Q&A; the exact times were not retained on the page. Check the View Ridge PTA site from late November 2026 onward or contact the office at 206-252-5600.

Bryant Elementary

2027–28 Open House date: not yet announced. Bryant does not offer daytime tours.

The school normally holds one adult-only prospective-family Open House in late winter, including the school and kindergarten classrooms. The prior cycle's event was Thursday, January 15, 2026, 6:00–7:30 p.m. After assignments, Bryant also held a child-inclusive New Family Night on June 2, 2026, 5:30–7:00 p.m.

McDonald International Elementary

2027–28 tour and Open House dates: not yet announced.

McDonald normally offers:

• Japanese and Spanish classroom visits in November.
• Morning kindergarten tours and an evening Open House in January.

For planning only, the prior cycle held kindergarten tours on January 6, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., followed by an Open House and tour from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Because McDonald is an option/immersion school, these visits are particularly useful before submitting a school-choice application.

Mercer Island elementary schools

2026–27 guided open-house dates: not yet announced.

Mercer Island School District says Island Park, Lakeridge, Northwood and West Mercer will each hold guided fall and spring open-house tours during the 2026–27 school year. The tours are intended to show a typical school day, but the district has not published the dates. Its prior kindergarten information night for all four schools was January 26, 2026, 5:30–6:30 p.m.; use that only as a planning pattern. Watch the MISD kindergarten-registration page.

All four schools are address-assigned and were closed to new nonresident enrollment for 2026–27. A tour does not create an enrollment preference.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School

Two confirmed fall Open Houses plus weekday tours by appointment.

• Tuesday, October 6, 2026, 9:00–10:00 a.m.
• Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 9:00–10:00 a.m.

The November event conflicts with an SCDS lower-school tour, so October 6 is the better first choice. OLL also offers weekday tours throughout the year through its inquiry/tour form. Contact Enrollment Director Deven McCoy at dmccoy@ollseattle.org if the listed times do not work.

What to observe on each tour

Use the same short checklist so impressions remain comparable:

• Kindergarten class size and number of adults.
• Amount of recess, outdoor time and child-directed play.
• Reading/phonics and math materials visible in the classroom.
• Noise level, transitions and how teachers redirect children.
• Examples of student work and progress reports.
• Learning-support staff and where intervention occurs.
• Before/after-care pickup process.
• How a prospective student responds to the space, adults and children, when children are allowed to attend.

Update plan

• September 2026: reserve Open Window in Aryval; check UCDS and SCDS Ravenna listings.
• October 2026: recheck McDonald for November classroom visits.
• Late November–December 2026: recheck Cedar Trails, Grand Ridge, Endeavour, View Ridge, Bryant and all four Mercer Island schools for January/February events; check Cascade Ridge from January onward for its later spring orientation.
• After any move or signed lease: verify the exact Seattle, Issaquah or Mercer Island attendance-area assignment before relying on a public-school tour.
